30 Encouraging Bible Verses For Hard Times

The Bible is a fantastic book! Not only is it full of wisdom and knowledge, but it also has words of encouragement and inspiration. I have turned to the Bible many times when looking for support and hope, and I always found what I needed. I have compiled 30 Bible verses that have been helping me during my trials, comforting me, and giving me peace.

I hope that as you read these verses, God will speak and encourage you through them. And that you will get refreshed and strengthened!

Bible verses for when you are waiting on God

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Lamentations 3:25-27

 

Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:30-31

 

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

Micah 7:7

 

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

Psalm 40:1-2

 

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Psalm 27:14

Bible verses for  when you feel abandoned

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1

Isaiah 41:10

 

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Bible verses for when you are feeling anxious

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

 

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

 

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Bible verses to give you wisdom for hard times
